Conference Presentation Highlights
Please check out two of my conference highlights in 2024, the "Quality Forum 2024", put on by HQBC Health Quality BC, and the National conference, "Pathways to Prosperity: Canada".

"Transformational Experiential Learning on Indigenous-Specific Antiracism Education
at Interior Health"
As the Corporate Director, Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, I presented on the education framework that I developed and launched with my team. The Indigenous-specific anti-racism education framework was developed to align with the In Plain Sight (#11 & 20), the Cultural Safety and Humility Standard (HSO 7500) and the Provincial Learning Outcomes.
Experiential learning, project-based, flipped classroom model, hand work, and story are a few of the highlights of the framework.

My New Home: Colouring Canada
I co-presented on our 3.5 hour workshop, “My New Home: Colouring Canada” at the national conference.
The “My New Home: Colouring Canada” workshop was developed for first-generation immigrants to move through Canada’s pre-colonial and colonial history, up to present day.
The experiential learning opportunity uses storytelling and interactive colouring activities, to make the history accessible. The impacts of colonialism are introduced, while also emphasizing the ongoing resistance by Indigenous peoples.
Workshops are offered virtually and in person.
NOTE: Ask about booking the workshop and/or the up coming launch of the health-care version of this workshop. Its target group is for first generation immigrants entering Canada's healthcare system.
